About the reserve

Although small in size, this diverse nature reserve boasts over 230 species of plants among the rough grassland, thorn thicket and woodland habitats.

Yellow Cowslips and Hairy Violets bloom in the spring while by midsummer, the path to the river is awash with colour, from purple Knapweed to yellow Common St Johns Wort. Flitting among the wildflowers are many Butterfly species, while along the river Kingfisher feed.

Walk through the woodland, passing Pale Wood Violets, Twayblade Orchids and Wood Spurge and listen to the woodland birds singing amongst the trees.
