Spring is arriving at Abberton, albeit slowly. The weather is cloudy and blustery. There is the beginnings of leaves on Hawthorn and blossom on Blackthorn showing in the young woodland.
January has finally turned colder, with some frosty mornings. Tree planting is still going well, and our running total now stands at 2,775, we should be finished in the next 3 to 4 weeks unless…
December has been quite wet so far but this has been a good thing for tree planting, and the ranger and volunteers have already planted 1,170 of the 4,050 to plant this winter.
