About the event

This walk follows the sea wall as the incoming tide begins to fill the creeks, allowing the feeding birds to be viewed, sometimes at relatively close range. During the winter months sightings may include a variety of winter waders and ducks. These could include the Dark Bellied Brent Goose, for which Hamford Water is a site of international importance.

The top of the sea wall is uneven and may be overgrown and muddy in places. The exact route is dependent on the condition of the access paths on the day. It will either be the circular route starting at the Chip Shop in Hall Lane, or a simple "out and back" route: following Cormorant Creek to its mouth and returning the same way. Please be aware that this walk may take up to 2½ hours and is 3-4 miles in length.

Please wear suitable footwear, weather appropriate clothing and bring some water. Please note that wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed and may be distant. Don't forget your binoculars!
