About the event

This walk to the remote Stone Point peninsular may reveal some of our wintering birds: waders, ducks and possibly geese. It takes place as the incoming tide forces the wading birds from the distant mud banks to roost on the lagoons and salt marsh.

Please be aware that this walk may take up to three hours, is up to five miles in length and involves walking over soft sand, mud and salt marsh. Tide and beach conditions on the day will dictate the actual route and duration of this walk and it may not be possible or safe to get all the way to Stone Point on the day.

Please wear suitable footwear, weather appropriate clothing and bring some water. Most important of all, don't forget your binoculars!
