About the event

Our Abberton Home Education Group runs on the 4th Wednesday of every month (excluding, August and December). These are drop-off sessions so children do not need to be accompanied – for children aged 8-16. Each session has a theme where we will complete activities and engage with nature based on that month's topic. This is a relaxed session, where children can be themselves and work together to develop social skills and foster a deep understanding of wildlife and a love of the natural world.

In January we are looking at all things Bird related! We will visit the bird hides to do some bird watching and learn how to identify different species – including some in flight. We will dissect barn owl pellets and see what they have been eating. We will even make some bird feeders for you to take home.

Please bring children to the education shelter to sign them in (directions can be given at the front desk). A consent form should be completed before the session so children can be dropped off.

Please dress suitably for the weather as we will be outside for the whole session.
