About the event
Forest Bathing is a practice that has Japanese heritage (called Shinrin- Yoku) and involves spending time along the trees, observing nature or walking slowly through the woods, in no hurry. Like when we sunbathe, we try to experience a physical relationship between the sun and our bodies, the same is true in Forest Bathing as we relax and immerse ourselves in the forest.
Forest Bathing can be seen as a tool to enable people to deeply connect with the natural world. During the session the we might activate and engage with our senses through guided mediation, take part in exploratory invitations with them, and then share and reflect.
A session will involve all 5 senses (and maybe more as you will discover!) As we spend time with the trees and breathe deeply, the essential oils of the trees are absorbed by our body and can have an extraordinary positive effect on us. There is growing scientific evidence that Forest Therapy is a health intervention.
