Lasting for the duration of June, the UK’s biggest nature challenge encourages people to carry out one wild thing a day for 30 days, that’s 30 ‘random acts of wildness’ to carry out for your health, wellbeing, for wildlife and for the planet. Popular activities include listening to birdsong, taking wildlife photographs, birdwatching and planting seeds.
Taking part in the annual summer challenge is scientifically proven to make you feel happier, healthier, and more connected to nature, with positive effects lasting for up to two months afterwards. More than 5,000 people across Essex took part last year, sign-up is now open so join them this year and rekindle that precious relationship with the natural world.
If the past year has taught us anything, it’s that people need more nature in their lives, so the Trust want as many people to get involved in Essex as possible!
This year, for the first time, 30 Days Wild is kicking off with the Big Wild Breakfast on the 1st June. This is a new, outdoor celebration to get everyone engaging with nature straight away. The free packs you will receive after signing up include everything you’ll need to plan for your wild breakfast as well as plenty of inspiration and activities to keep you wild during the whole month.
