Free workshops and webinars for community wildlife projects

Empowering people in Essex with the tools and knowledge to protect nature.
Since 2022, Essex Wildlife Trust has been supporting communities and individuals who want to make a difference for wildlife by offering free workshops and webinars. Find out what training we have been delivering so far, and what's available for next year.

In 2023, the  Trust delivered a series of in-person and online webinars to help those with plans to restore nature in their local community. There were sessions on creating healthy ponds, growing hedgerows, woodland condition assessments, creating pesticide-free towns, insect habitat creation and wildflower identifications.

This year, we are excited to offer a series of general wildlife webinars, open to all. These have a garden focus, where people can take easy actions at home to welcome wildlife in. Upcoming webinars include discovering winter wildlife, how to make your garden insect-friendly, an introduction to birds and bird boxes, and learning about garden ponds.

It is hoped that by providing the space to learn more about taking action for wildlife, people will feel equipped to make changes to their own green spaces - and spread the word to others! Our aim is to get 1 in 4 people in Essex taking action for wildlife, helping to tip the scale back in nature's favour.
