It is Recycle Week, and we are offering you the opportunity to do a good deed by donating your unused clothes, bras and household items! Donate to selected visitor centres across the county and you can be sure you are supporting people and wildlife; in 2018 we raised over £3,600 from our Recycling Scheme and we’re hoping to smash that record this year!
Our popular Recycling Scheme is expanding, which will allow us to accept even more household items to raise essential funds and improve sustainability:
Gadgets and phones: we can now accept gadgets including mobile phones, tablets, iPods, games consoles, games and accessories, MP3 Players and satnavs.
Textiles and bras: we accept textiles (including shoes, bed linen, towels, hats and bags) and bras (kept separate from other textiles please). Textiles can be placed in the large clothes banks situated at Chafford, Hanningfield and Thorndon visitor centres, and Abbotts Hall Farm. Bras can be bagged separately and donated at any Visitor Centre’
Currency and stamps: we can process old or foreign coins and notes and used stamps. They can be donated at our visitor centres or posted to us at Abbotts Hall Farm, Maldon Road, Great Wigborough, Colchester CO5 7RZ.
Jewellery - donate your old or broken jewellery and watches (including costume jewellery) and we can recycle them. Drop them off at any of our visitor centres or contact us for more information.
You can request Freepost envelopes for jewellery and currency by calling 01621 862996. Sacks for jewellery, currency, stamps and gadgets (minimum 10kg please) can be requested by calling 0800 633 5323.
