The Trust is aiming to raise £90,000 to support community projects that focus on nature - and thanks to matched funding, every donation during this week will be doubled, making contributions twice as impactful.

The funds raised will support a variety of local initiatives that connect communities with nature while promoting wildlife conservation. Projects include creating sensory gardens, growing community orchards, building hedgehog highways, establishing pollinator-friendly neighbourhoods and restoring ponds.

Additionally, the funds will enable free webinars and training sessions to give residents the skills and knowledge needed to protect Essex’s natural environment. Already, the project has provided training sessions on how to create healthy hedgerows, ponds, wildflower meadows and more.

The Trust have been delivering this work as part of the Team Wilder ethos, the idea that nature recovery is a people-led movement. By empowering communities to take their own actions for wildlife, more can be done to positively impact the natural world. So far, the Trust has worked with 32 groups.

This campaign is about empowering communities to take meaningful action for wildlife. Together, we can create greener spaces, restore habitats, and equip people with the tools to make a lasting impact for nature.
