Thank you for your kind donation to our Wrabness Appeal. Your generosity has secured a vital wildlife corridor, enabling the animals to move safely between two nature reserves.
.The Trust owns the 52 acre reserve along the southern bank of the Stour Estuary, a site of special scientific interest and of international importance due to wetland and wading birds in Jacques Bay. Overlooking this is Oakfield Wood, a 7 acre green burial ground. For each burial a native broadleaved tree is planted and when it is completed it will be managed as an Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserve. Thanks to your support the trust purchased a further 4.2 acres of grazing marshland, creating this vital corridor between the two sites. Ecological research has proven that linking fragmented habitats is essential to maintaining sustainable wildlife populations and this will enable us to drive forward our vision where wildlife thrives.
We would like to share our work at Wrabness with you. Whilst we are unable to take you on the guided walks that we had hoped to organise due to pandemic restrictions, we invite you to watch an exclusive behind the scenes video instead. Join Emma Ormond, our Area Manager, as she walks you virtually through Wrabness, exploring the wild beauty and connecting you to wildlife from your own home.
