About the event
Calling all budding scientists, geographers, geologists, and other curious minds! Hunt for treasures where the land meets the sea, as we explore our fascinating coast on an adventure along the strandline. We will return to our centre - come science lab - to use microscopes and simple experiments to explore and discover more about our findings. Discover rocks, fossils, and shells from our shoreline and the adaptations of the plants and creatures that live here.
This session is best suited to children aged 6 and over. In the first part of the session, we will head to the beach to collect some samples to bring back and investigate. The beach is only accessed via steep steps and unfortunately not suitable for those with limited mobility/pushchairs or wheelchair users. Wear outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for the beach in winter. Children remain your responsibility and must be supervised by an adult at all times. The car park is managed by Tendring District Council and parking charges apply. No dogs at our events, please. Please note ticket sales will end 24 hours before the event.
